The Village of Park Forest will hosts its annual job fair, scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at Village Hall.
Community Relations Manager Evelyn Randle has stated that this year, the event is being organized in collaboration with the Commission on Human Relations and the Youth Commission. The primary aim of the job fair is to support members of the community who are actively seeking employment or exploring new opportunities in the job market.
"The objective is to create meaningful connections between employers and potential employees," Randle explained. "This event will allow companies to showcase their open positions while job seekers can network, gain insights into various career paths, and learn about job opportunities available in our area."
Randle noted that with the current uncertainties in the job market, many individuals are reevaluating their career paths, and young people are entering the workforce for the first time, making this event particularly timely.
The Park Forest Job Fair will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the main boardroom at Village Hall, located at 350 Victory Drive. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and dress professionally, as it’s uncertain whether on-the-spot interviews will be available. However, Randle emphasized the importance of being prepared, so individuals should come equipped with several copies of their resumes.
Randle said this year’s fair will feature a diverse array of potential employers across multiple industries, including education, healthcare, transportation, hospitality, and more, providing ample opportunities for job seekers to connect with hiring managers and learn about their future career options.
