January 5, 2012 - On Thursday, January 5 at 2045 hours the Park Forest Fire Department was dispatched to Central Park for a field fire. Upon arrival firefighters found a large fire in the dry vegetation of the wetlands. Firefighters allowed the fire to take its natural course and stood-by to monitor the situation for approximately 2 hours until the fire reached the grass line and extinguished itself.
Evidence was collected at the scene by Park Forest Police who are currently investigating this suspicious fire.
