Park Forest is home to Freedom Hall’s Nathan Manilow Theater, the offices of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tall Grass Arts Association. Several businesses specializing in performing arts training, such as MuzicNet and Fieldcrest, also provide opportunities for local residents interested in theater, music and dance. Art galleries, like Salon Artists Gallery, are present and easily found in town, situated in the heart of the Village.

Events & Activities

Park Forest’s DownTown boasts several magnificent and captivating murals, painted by talented local artists, depicting the life of the town and its residents. Park Forest’s Village Green, also located in the DownTown section, holds outdoor performing arts events free to the public in the summer months.

Leads to Awards
Park Forest has served as a leader in the arts for over seven decades, dating back to the formation of the Park Forest Arts Club in 1950. For close to 60 years, Park Forest has played host to a top-notch art fair, the Park Forest Art Fair, which attracts artists from all over the nation. In 2010, Arts Alliance Illinois and the Illinois Municipal League selected the Village of Park Forest for Honorable Mention for the Illinois Arts Friendly Community Awards.  In 2013, the Park Forest Art Fair was named one of “America’s Best Art Fairs” by artfaircalendar.com.
