The Village of Park Forest will hold its last Rules and Regular Meeting of the month tonight at 7 p.m. at Village Hall.
Monday night's meeting will start with two ceremonious presentations by the Park Forest Police Department. The department will swear in Officer Jessica Rodriguez and announce the recipients of the 2024 Officer of the Year and Civilian Employee of the Year awards.
The Park Forest Finance Department is set to present its “comprehensive” six-month report on the 2025 Fiscal Year Budget, along with insights into Current Year Trends. Finance Director Mark Pries and Assistant Director Sharon Floyd have prepared a memo for the Park Forest Board of Trustees, outlining the Village's financial status and highlighting key performance indicators.
In a recent Special and Regular Meeting held on Feb. 17, the Village's auditor affirmed that Park Forest is in "sound financial condition," offering reassurance about the sustainability of its finances. The Finance Department noted this positive assessment comes amid ongoing efforts to enhance fiscal responsibility and transparency within the community, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed about the Village's economic health and future financial planning.
The Park Forest Board of Trustees will be voting on two agenda items presented by the Public Works Department. Assistant Director Nick Christie has requested additional funding from the Board for the annual maintenance contract for Residential Water Shut-off (B-Box) replacements with M/J Underground, a company based in Monee, Illinois.
The second item for consideration is Public Works' request to authorize the village manager to sign a purchase order for $33,756.87 to acquire a spare OSEC electrolyzer cell assembly. Board approval is necessary for this purchase, as the amount exceeds the village manager's spending authority.
