Voters in Cook County can cast their ballots for the 2024 election at the Park Forest Village Hall starting Oct .21, when early voting begins.
Illinois residents can request a vote by mail application from their county election office electronically or in person before the election, which is Nov. 5.
Residents in the Will County section of Park Forest cannot participate in early voting at Village Hall; however, they can cast their vote at the University Park Library on Monday, Oct. 21.
To be eligible to vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old by November 5, 2024, have lived in their precinct for at least 30 days before the election, and not be serving a prison sentence as a result of a conviction.
You can still register to vote for this year's election. People can register in person by going to their local county clerk's office and filling out a form. Two forms of valid ID, including one with the current address, are required for registration.
An online voter registration option is also available through Oct. 20 on the Illinois State Board of Elections website.
In Cook County, residents can vote at Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, starting Oct. 21.
