Water Main Project Public Notice

PUBLIC COMMENT NOTICE

IEPA FUNDING OF WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS

VILLAGE OF PARK FOREST, ILLINOIS

1. Purpose of the Project. The purpose of this Project is to install approximately 22,000 lineal feet of new water main in sizes ranging from 8-inch to 12-inch at various locations throughout the Village. These water main replacements will improve overall water system performance, will increase quality, and will decrease the number of water main breaks each year. The project will be funded through a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and the project cost is estimated to be $5,000,000.

2. Review of Documents. The Notice of Intent to Issue a Categorical Exclusion and the Project Plan are available for public viewing at the Village Hall at 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, Illinois 60466. Persons can view them during normal business hours between now and the end of the public comment period which is ten (10) days from this notice.

3. Public Comment Period. During this comment period (10 days), written comments may be provided to the Village of Park Forest or directly to the IEPA. Contact information for the Village and IEPA is provided below.
