Hundreds of Park Foresters gathered for the annual Resident Appreciation BBQ on Wednesday. The event doubles as the official kick-off to Main Street Nights - the summer-long concert series on the Village Green.
Village staff and elected officials alike served residents during the event. Additionally, people enjoyed live music and participated in giveaways. Village Manager Tom Mick said the event is an excellent way for the community to meet those who work for them.
"The Resident Appreciation BBQ is a wonderful event that is unique to Park Forest," Mick said. "The coordination of many Village Officials drives the entire night. The Mayor, Board of Trustees, and all Village Staff participate and enjoy the interpersonal civic engagement of serving the residents of Park Forest."
