The 69th Annual Park Forest Art Fair will take place on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Village Green in DownTown Park Forest, located near Main Street and Cunningham Drive.
This year’s fair will feature four new artists, alongside many returning favorites. Exhibitors will showcase artwork in various media, including oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, photography, printmaking, woodwork, glass, pottery, and fiber arts.
Mae Brandon of the Tall Grass Arts Association stated that the fair has long been an important tradition in the community.
“It’s important for people to come out and support this event so we can keep the tradition alive,” Brandon said. “When you support the artists, you’re also supporting the cultural life of Park Forest.”
Brandon also noted that the art fair offers attendees the opportunity to purchase unique pieces.
“People will be able to buy jewelry and artwork at the fair, with prices varying to ensure there’s something for everyone,” she explained.
The Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery will be open both days of the fair. Admission to the gallery, gift shop, and art fair is free. The current gallery exhibit, titled "The Whole Kit and Kaboodle," runs through the last day of the fair and features more than 70 artists working in a wide range of media, from realistic paintings to abstract compositions.
Entertainment on Saturday will include performances by the Rowgers Duo and Blend Acoustic. Food vendors and a Kids Art Alley will also be available throughout the weekend. Artists participating in the fair are being highlighted on the association’s Facebook page.
