The Village of Park Forest will hold its final Regular Meeting of the month at Village Hall on Monday, March 24, at 7 p.m.
During the meeting, the Park Forest Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote on the consent agenda, which includes three motions and one resolution. One of the motions concerns a memo submitted by Park Forest Fire Department Deputy Chief Mark Cotrano requesting an ambulance replacement.
Another motion involves the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Community Health's request for the Board to authorize Village Manager Tom Mick to contract with Shelton Landscape & Snow Management for seasonal mowing of Areas #1 to #10. The cost per operation will be $1,353, leading to an anticipated total seasonal cost of $37,884.
The Park Forest Police Department presents the final motion. Chief Brian Ryzki has requested the Board's approval for a resolution allowing the department to participate in an auction to sell a vehicle. The only resolution listed on the agenda from the Public Works Department seeks the Board's approval for a Certificate of Authority, confirming that the Village will participate in a joint salt purchasing program for the winter season of 2025-2026.
During the Board meeting on March 24, the Board is expected to have additional discussion on a renovation project for the Park Forest Aqua Center. Earlier this week, Kevin Adams, the Director of Recreation, Parks, and Community Health, presented a PowerPoint outlining a $3.5 million reconstruction project. This project aims to renovate the Park Forest Aqua Center by implementing necessary improvements and adding a Splash Pad to the facility.
